Seventh Coalition

The Seventh Coalition was hurriedly prepared during the Napoleonic Wars in 1815 after Napoleon's return to France and his successful entry of Paris. The Seventh Coalition's members include: Britain, Russia, Prussia, Sweden, Austria, The Netherlands and a number of German States. The major battle(s) of the Seventh Coalition are that of Ligny (15th June), Quatre Bras (16th June), Wavre (17th June) and Waterloo(18th June.) At Ligny (and Wavre) and Quarte Bras, Napoleon defeated the Prussians and the British (respectively) but did not prevent them from joining up near Waterloo and finally finishing off Napoleon. The Austrians and the Russians did not arrive on time.
