Committee of General Security


During the French Revolution, the Committee of General Security acted as the Committee of Public Safety's police force. It was they who sought out those guilty of treason to France, it was they who truly guillotined the thousands of innocent lives. Robespierre was merely trying to keep power firmly under his hand, while others took advantage of Robespierre's laws to murder thousands of lives.
