Biosphere (band)

Biosphere, the recording name of Geir Jenssen, is a Norwegian musician who has released a large catalogue of ambient electronic music. Originating from Tromsų in the north of Norway, Biosphere is famous for his ambient arctic influenced sound but most people will have encountered his music via a Levi's advertisement that used a track from his second album as a soundtrack.

Jenssen used to be part of the trio Bel Canto , but left to make music on his own. He has also released music under the names Bleep and Cosmic Explorer. Jenssen is a keen mountain climber and photographer.

In May 2004, Geir's first United States performance took place in Detroit.
