Basic education

Basic education is an essential education. It is a formal education deemed necessary for somebody to function properly in society.

Universal basic education is regarded as a priority for developing countries. Its benefits are claimed to include the reduction of disease through knowledge of hygiene and nutrition, reducing unwanted pregancies, and reducing violence by increasing understanding of non-violent ways to solve problems and mutual understanding between groups in conflict.
